Kayla is a graduating senior class at Cleveland Central Catholic High School, where she also serves as a student ambassador. When she is not in school or working her part-time job, Kayla loves to play her flute, she has been playing since the age of seven. She also enjoys babysitting.

This fall, Kayla will be joining the cCass of 2021 at Baldwin-Wallace University! She plans on majoring in psychology and pursuing a career in social work.

Kayla described her experience with Minds Matter Cleveland as eye-opening. “It was the first time I was surrounded by a peer group who were actually eager and excited to learn together. I was amazed! My fellow classmates are my favorite part of the program. They have changed my life for the better. Each and every one of them has impacted my life positively. So being able to call them my family is an honor and a privilege.

“Minds Matter shows me that there is a whole world outside of Cleveland. It has given me the opportunities to do so many things I never thought I could do, such as traveling to and spending two weeks on a college campus during the Minds Matter-funded summer program. Minds Matter gave me the chance to realize my true potential, and for that I will forever be grateful.”

Congratulations Kayla! We want to wish you the best on your new endeavors!
