Mark

Mark 1

Meet Mark, Minds Matter Cleveland Class of 2019. He will be attending Cleveland State University in the fall to earn five-year bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science. For his Minds Matter summer program, he studied coding at Syracuse University while in high school.

Mark said: “Minds Matter has brought me new possibilities; I wasn’t thinking about college before joining Minds Matter. Minds Matter has also introduced to many different people who have made a difference in my life.”

From his mentors, Will Hayes and Jake Plata: “Mark’s growth since his sophomore year has been astonishing to say the least. He is gifted with a special mixture of thoughtfulness, witty banter and growing decisiveness. What has been most apparent in his development has been his confidence in himself. Since starting MM, Mark has consistently pushed himself out of his comfort zone. Between balancing his school work, social life, family and a demanding part-time job he still found time to check all the boxes and earn a full-scholarship to Cleveland State University. The entire Minds Matter community is proud of him, we look forward to seeing what he accomplishes next.”
