Melissa

Melissa is a senior at Cleveland School of the Arts. This fall, she will be attending Skidmore College on a full ride scholarship, where she plans to study Biochemistry! Melissa is interested in pursuing a career in dermatology. Melissa is an activist against policy brutality towards black people. In her spare time, she enjoys watching Sailor Moon.

In her experience with Minds Matter, Melissa shared that the people she has met along the way, from fellow students to her mentors, have forever impacted her life in a profound way. “At times, I had moments when I wanted to give up on reaching some of my goals, but Minds Matter was always there to help push me to overcome obstacles and get to where I wanted to be.”

She has a talent for using stories to convey important messages in powerful ways. This skill will guide Melissa throughout her life and career, and we look forward to seeing what she will do with it.
