Sara

Sara M

Sara is a soon-to-be graduate of Saint Joseph Academy’s Class of 2017. At school, Sara is involved in the drama club, robotics, ambassadors, peer ministry, Catholic Schools for Peace and Justice (where she was a previous retreat leader). Outside of school, she spends time working both at a movie theater and at a catering company.

Reflecting on her three-year journey with Minds Matter, Sara shared that, without the program, she would not have been able to accomplish many of the things she has done, such as attending summer programs at college campuses, getting a high score on the ACT, and staying on top of the college application process.

As a result, Sara has earned admission into nine in-state and out-of-state colleges while receiving various scholarships that will further enable her to pursue quality higher education. Even though she is still undecided on a specific major at this time, Sara is interested in pursuing a career in lobbying and law, thanks to her experience taking a course about leadership and social justice at Brown University as part of Minds Matter-funded summer program last year.

Her favorite part of the program is the relationship she has built with her mentors. They have been a great support system and resource beyond preparing her for test taking and college application. Sara is appreciative and thankful for all the connections and experience Minds Matter has brought to her life.

We’re thrilled to have an overachieving student like you, Sara! Best of luck on your next journey!
